Canadian home sales rose slightly for the third consecutive month in June, while the Canadian Real Estate Association trimmed its 2026 forecast to account for a weak first half of the year.

According to data released Wednesday by the association, the number of transactions nationwide increased by 0.5% from May, continuing increases in the previous two months.

The market saw a 1.3% decline in new listings, according to Bloomberg News on Wednesday.

The association now expects a 1.4% decline in sales this year compared to 2025, a revision from a slight increase it had forecast in April.

It added that this reflects a weak start to the year, including the impact of a rise in late March in fixed mortgage rates related to inflation concerns and negative population growth in some parts of the country.
