Eng. Saeed Al-Zahrani, a trainer at the Technical College in Jeddah, said that it is incorrect that restarting the air conditioner after turning it off increases the electricity bill in the normal pattern of switching off and on.

He added during an interview with Al-Saudia channel that the air conditioner draws a larger load at the start of operation, then the operating period afterward is normal.

Al-Zahrani pointed out that random and improper switching on and off leads to increased consumption because it repeats the same start cycle again.
