Data from the European Statistical Office (Eurostat) showed that global demand for European goods and services provided about 31.6 million jobs within the European Union in 2024, the highest level recorded, equivalent to 14.4% of total employment in the bloc.

The data showed that the number of jobs linked to demand from outside the bloc rose from 22.6 million in 2010, which represented 11.5% of total employment at the time, reflecting the growing contribution of foreign trade to supporting the European labor market.
