WAS - Dammam:

The GCC Interconnection Authority participated the day before yesterday in the 67th meeting of the Advisory and Regulatory Committee for the GCC Electrical Interconnection, attended by the CEO of the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority, Engineer Ahmed Al-Ibrahim, and representatives of the GCC states and the General Secretariat of the GCC represented by the Human and Environmental Affairs Sector - Energy Department, in the State of Kuwait.

The meeting reviewed a number of topics, most notably the performance and activities report of the GCC Interconnection Authority, and the support provided by the electrical interconnection system to the power grids in the GCC states, which contributed to enhancing the reliability and stability of the Gulf electrical system, in addition to reviewing the most prominent operational events and measures taken to ensure service continuity, and being briefed on the latest developments of GCC electrical interconnection network expansion projects and related updates.

At the conclusion of its meeting, the committee emphasized the importance of continuing to develop the GCC electrical interconnection system and enhancing its operational readiness and reliability, to support the continuity of energy security for the GCC states.
