'GCC Statistical Center': Population of GCC Countries Reaches 62.8 Million in 2025

The Statistical Center for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf revealed that the population of the GCC countries reached 62.8 million in 2025, with an annual population growth rate of 3.1% during the period from 2020 to 2025, coinciding with the celebration of World Population Day, which falls on July 11 each year.
The center explained that this year's World Population Day celebration comes under the slogan 'Empowering Youth to Achieve Their Future Hopes and Aspirations,' highlighting the role of youth in the general framework of the unified population strategy of the GCC countries, as a key axis in the march of sustainable development.

It pointed out that the Gulf population strategy focuses on enhancing youth participation in the labor market, developing their future skills, supporting vocational guidance, in addition to encouraging entrepreneurship and youth projects, attracting talents, and consolidating a culture of work and economic participation.

The strategy also includes a number of axes aimed at building a more sustainable society, including enhancing mental and physical health, protecting youth from harmful behaviors, developing environmental awareness, encouraging volunteer work and community responsibility, supporting dialogue between youth and decision-makers, in addition to strengthening national and Gulf identity, supporting innovation and creativity, and family awareness. The Statistical Center emphasized that these indicators reflect the continued population growth in the GCC countries, and highlight the importance of investing in the youth group as a fundamental pillar for achieving economic and social development, and supporting the targets of joint Gulf strategies aimed at building more sustainable and prosperous societies.
