Gold prices rose on Wednesday to their highest level in two weeks, supported by technical buying, a decline in the dollar index, and investors' anticipation of the Federal Reserve meeting next week.

Spot gold rose 1.7% to $4,145.24 per ounce, after hitting its highest level since July 7.

Precious metals prices

For other precious metals, spot silver rose 2% to $59.98 per ounce. Platinum gained 0.7% to $1,640.63, and palladium increased 1.4% to $1,299.47.
