Gulf Reserves of $874 Billion Rank Council Fourth Globally
The Statistical Center for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC-STAT) revealed that the total foreign reserve assets of the GCC countries reached $874 billion by the end of 2025, making the Arab Gulf states rank fourth globally.
The center explained that the six GCC countries account for about 5% of total global foreign reserve assets, an indicator reflecting the growing economic weight of the Gulf region on the international financial map.
The center pointed out that Gulf foreign reserves are sufficient to cover merchandise imports for 13 months, a level exceeding three times the global average, reflecting the strength of the economic position of the GCC countries and their high capacity to absorb external shocks and global economic fluctuations.
