Jeddah Islamic Port announced an increase in the exemption periods for storage fees for transit goods for 60 days, starting from July 19, 2026, as part of a package of facilities aimed at improving supply chain efficiency and enhancing the attractiveness of Saudi ports on the global trade map, in a step that reflects the accelerating pace of the logistics transformation witnessed by the Kingdom.

It grants beneficiaries greater flexibility in managing shipping, storage, and re-export operations.

The decision comes through three main operational indicators: an exemption period for transit containers of 15 days, an exemption for general transit goods of 5 days, in addition to granting goods arriving via 'Ro-Ro' ships and cars an exemption period of 5 days, which gives beneficiaries greater flexibility in managing shipping, storage, and re-export operations.

These measures reflect a strategic direction towards enhancing the competitiveness of the port, which is the largest port in the Kingdom on the Red Sea and one of the most important hubs for trade movement between East and West, receiving millions of tons of goods and containers annually that form a fundamental pillar of regional and international supply movement.

With the start of the implementation of the decision, attention is turning to the expected impact of these incentives on transit traffic in the coming weeks, at a time when regional ports are competing to attract more shipping lines and transit shipments, while Jeddah Islamic Port continues to strengthen its presence as a pivotal maritime gateway supporting trade growth and the flow of goods efficiently and sustainably.
