The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) announced the launch of the electronic objection service for storage fees (demurrage) via the Port Community System (PCS), as part of its efforts to develop electronic services, enhance procedure efficiency, and improve user experience, effective July 10, 2026.

Submission of objection within 15 days from the date of issuance of the storage fee invoice.

According to a recent circular from the authority seen by "Akhbaar24", the authority allows beneficiaries to submit objections to storage fees electronically through the Port Community System (PCS). Objections will be submitted, tracked, requirements completed, and decisions reviewed exclusively through the electronic system. Reception of objections via email or any other channels will be stopped as of the effective date.

The authority noted in its circular that objectors must attach supporting documents when submitting via the system, and must submit the objection within 15 days from the date of issuance of the storage fee invoice or notification to the beneficiary. Failure to meet this deadline will result in rejection of the objection, in accordance with the provisions of the regulatory framework for calculating and collecting storage fees in ports and its annexes.

According to the authority, payment of storage fees is not a condition for accepting or considering the objection. Additionally, submitting an objection does not suspend the accrual of fees, collection procedures, or any other regulatory procedures, unless the authority decides otherwise.
