Liverpool FC has intensified its campaign against black market ticket sales, issuing 432 lifetime bans and 115 indefinite suspensions as part of a joint operation with Merseyside Police targeting illegal ticket trafficking networks and money laundering, according to Inside World Football.

The operation resulted in the seizure of assets worth over £1.2 million suspected of being linked to proceeds from illegal ticket sales.

The campaign is part of the club's efforts to combat ticket resale outside official channels, whether online or around Anfield stadium.

Inspector Nick Suffield said the collaboration between Merseyside Police and Liverpool FC aims to protect genuine fans from falling victim to the black market, stressing that authorities will continue to take action against those involved in such practices.

700,000 ticket analyses

Club data reveals the scale of the phenomenon, with Liverpool analyzing around 700,000 ticket registrations last season, resulting in the banning or cancellation of 67,663 suspicious accounts, while another 121,379 accounts remain under investigation.

The club also canceled 3,847 tickets due to suspicious activity before putting them back on sale via official channels, with an average of around 300 tickets resold on match day per fixture at Anfield.
