Ports: Handling of 14.3 million tons of goods through Kingdom's ports during June 2026

The General Authority of Ports (Mawani) revealed that the total goods handled through the Kingdom's ports in June 2026 reached 14.34 million tons, a decrease of 38% compared to 23.03 million tons in the same month last year.

Port traffic is a vital indicator of commercial and economic activity in the Kingdom, especially under Vision 2030 which seeks to enhance its position as a global logistics hub.

General cargo recorded about 821.95 thousand tons, while liquid bulk cargo reached approximately 5.59 million tons, and solid bulk 2.36 million tons.

The number of containers handled decreased by 35.8% to 500.8 thousand TEUs, compared to 696.8 thousand containers in June 2025.

Passenger numbers also decreased by 24.6% to 59.4 thousand passengers, compared to 78.8 thousand passengers last year, and vessel traffic decreased by 21.65% to 1,086 ships, compared to 1,386 ships in the same period last year.

The number of vehicles also declined by 22.8% to 58.3 thousand vehicles, compared to 75.4 thousand vehicles last year, while ports received 697.7 thousand heads of livestock, a decrease of 27.3% compared to 959.2 thousand heads of livestock in the same period last year.
