Qatar participates in meeting of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Consumer Protection Law and Policy

Geneva, July 11 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated in the ninth session of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Consumer Protection Law and Policy and Competition Protection, organized by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), from July 6 to 10 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

The delegation of the State of Qatar was headed by Mr. Hassan bin Sultan Al Ghanim, Assistant Undersecretary for Consumer Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The meeting discussed ways to develop legislation and policies related to consumer protection and competition protection, enhance product safety, address challenges related to e-commerce and digital markets, combat harmful goods and illegal commercial practices, as well as strengthen international cooperation and exchange of best practices to contribute to enhancing competitive markets and protecting consumer rights.
