Dates are among the most important national products in the Kingdom, for domestic and foreign consumption.

Mohammed Al-Khatib (a dates trader) said, during his interview broadcast on Al Arabiya channel, that consumer demand is increasing for quality dates that can be measured using modern methods.

Al-Khatib added that foreign markets are witnessing demand for Saudi dates, which has raised export rates, and the dates factories in the Kingdom contributed to that.

He added that domestic consumption of dates is high, with consumers seeking the best types and good taste, noting that the suitable climatic conditions for palm cultivation ensure good production.
