The net worth of Deep Seek founder Liang Wenfeng more than doubled following the latest fundraising round for his company, making the Chinese entrepreneur the world's richest developer of AI models—surpassing the heads of OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, and Anthropic, the owner of Claude.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Liang's wealth now stands at $36 billion (S$46.5 billion), compared with about $16.7 billion previously.

That places Liang far ahead of OpenAI President Greg Brockman (ranked 100th on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index), whose net worth is estimated at $25.5 billion, and Anthropic co-founder Dario Amodei (ranked 491st), whose wealth is $7.98 billion, as reported by Singapore's The Straits Times, citing German news agency dpa.

Ironically, OpenAI co-founder and CEO Sam Altman did not even make the Bloomberg list of the world's 500 richest people. His net worth is estimated at $3.4 billion, according to Forbes real-time rankings.
