With an increase of 8.9%.. 4 million workers in the Saudi contracting sector during 2025
A report issued by the Saudi Contractors Authority showed that the number of workers in the contracting sector rose by 8.96% in 2025 to exceed 4 million workers.
The Contractors Authority issued its annual report for 2025, which reviews the extent of the qualitative transformation witnessed by the contracting sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as one of the main enablers to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
900% growth in the contractor base
The report revealed accelerated growth in the base of contractors registered with the authority, reaching approximately 70,488 active memberships by the end of 2025, with a growth rate exceeding 900% over the past three years, while the sector recorded growth in operating establishments of 21.44% compared to 2024.

According to the report, this comes as a clear reflection of the expansion of the economic activity base and the increasing attractiveness of the sector for investment. Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Contractors Authority, Mohammed Al-Ajlan, said that the authority is moving from a regulatory role to a strategic enabler leading a new phase of sector maturity. He added that the growth in the contractor base reflects the size of opportunities and growing confidence in the national business environment.
Sector's contribution to GDP
Al-Ajlan pointed out that the sector contributed 7.75% to the Kingdom's GDP, affirming that through the Future Projects Forum in its seventh edition, the authority showcased more than 20,000 development projects with a value exceeding 3 trillion riyals, with the participation of 214 government and private entities, reflecting unprecedented development momentum. Regarding the qualification and training axis, Al-Ajlan stated that the authority's academy achieved an institutional impact exceeding 15,000 beneficiaries of its training and consulting services, through more than 90 specialized training programs, in addition to more than 400 beneficiaries from accredited qualification programs, and hosting 660 contractors from localization initiatives across 7 specialized forums. He indicated that these figures represent the infrastructure for the sector of the future. Al-Ajlan added that the Saudi contractor represents a fundamental pillar in the sustainability of economic growth, and that the authority works to empower him, raise his capabilities, and enhance his readiness to deal with the requirements of major projects, through developing regulatory and professional services, expanding the scope of qualification programs, and building a more efficient system that supports the growth of establishments and raises the quality of performance in the sector.
