Fine artist Zuhair Mohammed Mlibari inaugurated the "20 in 20" exhibition, attended by Ms. Nawal Abbas Adham, Director of Adham Art Gallery, and Mr. Nadir Yawuz, Director of the Saudi Society for Fine Arts in Jeddah, along with a select group of fine artists, media professionals, and visual arts enthusiasts.

The exhibition's concept is based on a clear numerical structure: each artist presents twenty artworks, each consisting of twenty small panels, measuring 20x20 cm. However, this numerical rigidity did not produce a static experience; rather, it became a common framework from which the artists' differences emerged. The number was the starting point, while the canvas allowed each artist to write their own language.

This is where one of the experiment's aesthetics lies: limited space does not necessarily mean limited vision, and a small panel does not necessarily reduce the breadth of an idea. Each visual unit carried the potential of an independent world before entering into dialogue with other units, eventually forming an artistic structure that goes beyond the single panel into a connected visual narrative.

In '20 in 20', the relationship between part and whole emerges as one of the key semantic elements of the experience: the panel retains its distinctiveness but gains additional meaning within the group. Color does not appear as a solitary presence but enters into rhythm with another color; the line transforms from a fleeting trace into a path; the form leaves its boundaries to participate in constructing a wider space. Thus, the exhibition becomes a visual dialogue between individual experience and collective space, between the work's independence and its belonging to the whole.

The exhibition included participation by a select group of male and female artists from various regions of the Kingdom, reflecting the richness of the Saudi fine art scene and its multiplicity of trends, schools, and styles. While a single framework brought participants together, the works revealed rich differences in handling color, line, surface, and space, affirming that unity of concept does not mean similarity of visions, and that difference can be one of the most beautiful forms of harmony.

Artist Zuhair Mohammed Mlibari affirmed in a press statement after the exhibition's opening that '20 in 20' brought together a select group of male and female artists whose creative output enriches the Saudi fine art scene, with visions and experiences stemming from thought, culture, and artistic awareness, revealing the diversity of trends, styles, and fine art schools.

He explained that the exhibition's idea came at the initiative of artist and trainer Ms. Fatima Wars, as part of an experience that gives each artist space to express their vision and unique addition within a unified artistic structure; this made the exhibition akin to a visual laboratory where experiments coexist, not to resemble each other, but to reveal the multiplicity of voices in Saudi fine art and the breadth of its expressive spaces. Mlibari described the participating works as 'a symphony of color, line, and form,' a reading that encapsulates the harmony created by the experiment between the diversity of works and the unity of the concept; the panels, in their entirety, transformed into a varied visual rhythm, allowing the viewer to read the work individually and then return to it within its overall context, discovering new meaning generated from adjacency and juxtaposition. With the exhibition concluding on July 22, 2026, its idea did not necessarily end; the experiment left its question open about art's ability to produce much from little, to turn constraint into opportunity, measurement into space, and number into language.
