Children's Book Club Launches 'Enriching Libraries' Service to Support Nurseries, Schools, and Educational Centers with Books

The Children's Book Club at the King Abdulaziz Public Library has launched the 'Enriching Libraries and Learning Centers with Books' service, an initiative aimed at supporting nurseries, schools, and educational centers with selected book collections, contributing to building stimulating educational environments and promoting reading culture among children and adolescents at various age stages.

The service offers diverse reading sets, carefully chosen to suit all educational stages, from nurseries and kindergartens through primary and intermediate levels up to secondary school, focusing on content quality, age appropriateness, and enriching cognitive and cultural aspects.

Ms. Sundus Al-Sharif, Director General of the Child Department, affirmed that launching this service extends the role of the Children's Book Club in spreading knowledge, establishing reading culture, and enhancing the presence of books in educational environments, thereby developing children's and adolescents' skills and motivating them to learn and discover.

She added that the service relies on selecting books according to precise educational and cultural criteria to ensure providing qualitative content that meets the needs of each age group, helping educational institutions create an attractive reading environment that supports the educational process and contributes to building the child's personality and developing their intellectual and linguistic skills.

Al-Sharif pointed out that this initiative is part of a series of programs and initiatives implemented by the General Department for Children, aimed at supporting educational institutions, enhancing community partnerships, and establishing the book's status as a fundamental tool for building knowledge and creating awareness.

She concluded her statement by emphasizing that the General Department for Children continues to develop its cultural and educational initiatives in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in developing human capabilities, enhancing quality of life, and building a reading generation possessing knowledge and believing in the value of continuous learning, creativity, and innovation.
