The Children's Book Club at King Abdulaziz Public Library launched the 'Enriching Libraries and Learning Centers with Books' service, an initiative aimed at supporting nurseries, schools, and educational centers with selected collections of books, contributing to building stimulating educational environments and promoting a culture of reading among children and adolescents at various age stages.
The service offers diverse reading collections carefully selected to suit all educational stages, starting from nurseries and kindergartens, through primary and intermediate levels, up to secondary school, with a focus on content quality, age-appropriateness, and enrichment of cognitive and cultural aspects. Sundus Al-Sharif, Director General of the Child Department, affirmed that the launch of this service is an extension of the Children's Book Club's role in spreading knowledge, instilling a reading culture, and enhancing the presence of books in educational environments, contributing to the development of children's and adolescents' skills and motivating them to learn and discover.
She added that the service relies on selecting books according to precise educational and cultural standards to ensure the provision of quality content that meets the needs of each age group and helps educational institutions provide an attractive reading environment that supports the educational process and contributes to building the child's personality and developing their intellectual and linguistic skills. Al-Sharif indicated that this initiative is part of a series of programs and initiatives implemented by the General Department for Children, aimed at supporting educational institutions, enhancing community partnerships, and consolidating the status of the book as a fundamental tool for building knowledge and creating awareness. She concluded her statement by affirming that the General Department for Children continues to work on developing its cultural and educational initiatives in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in developing human capabilities, enhancing quality of life, and building a reading generation that possesses knowledge and believes in the value of continuous learning, creativity, and innovation.
