Dubai's Islamic Affairs' Ramadan Season Strengthens Family Bonds and Faith Values
Dubai, February 16 /WAM/ The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai announced the launch of a comprehensive Ramadan season for 2026, embodying the vision of the Emirate of Dubai to strengthen family bonds and consolidate faith and humanitarian values in line with the directives of the "Year of the Family 2026".
This comes as a practical response to the "Al-Walfa" season launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and led and supervised by Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, under the "Ramadan in Dubai" initiative.
The Ramadan season of Dubai's Islamic Affairs falls within a system of quality programmes that place the family at the heart of the Ramadan experience and link worship, knowledge, solidarity and community participation, reflecting the spirit of "Al-Walfa" as an authentic community value that enhances the warmth of relationships, brings individuals closer to mosques, and supports cohesion among various segments of society.
Topping the Ramadan in Dubai 2026 agenda is the "Khatwat Hayat" event, an innovative model of community solidarity, while children and youth occupy a central place in the season through the "Eyyal Al Freej" programme.
Ramadan in Dubai 2026 will feature a distinguished programme for Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers through the "Qurra' Dubai" initiative, which hosts an elite group of distinguished reciters, lending the emirate's mosques a rich spiritual atmosphere and restoring the mosque's role as a unifying hub for the family and a place of tranquility and reassurance, in line with the philosophy of Al-Walfa that makes the mosque a comprehensive space not limited to worship but extending its impact to family and community life.
The season also includes a diverse knowledge programme of lectures and religious lessons in several languages, presented by an elite group of scholars and preachers, addressing topics relevant to the reality of fasting individuals and their daily lives, enhancing correct understanding of religion, consolidating values of moderation and tolerance, and contributing to building enlightened religious awareness that supports community cohesion.
The humanitarian dimension of the season is completed by setting up iftar tents in several areas of the Emirate of Dubai, a practical embodiment of the meanings of mercy and compassion, turning the values of the holy month into field initiatives that enhance the spirit of giving and participation and deepen the meanings of Al-Walfa and solidarity among community members.
His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the Department, affirmed that the "Ramadan in Dubai 2026" initiatives are launched in response to the Al-Walfa season with a new vision and renewed features that align with the directives of the wise leadership in making the family the focus of community development, noting that the Ramadan season reflects an integrated model of religious and community work, enhances quality of life, consolidates tolerant Islamic values, and brings the community closer to the spirit and meanings of the holy month.
