Lebanese artist Majida El Roumi will present the first major concert at the Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts in its 40th edition, on the stage of the ancient South Theater, on Thursday.

The Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts is held annually in the ancient city, which features historic Roman theaters.

The official Facebook page of Majida El Roumi published a video documenting the rehearsal of the concert.

Majida El Roumi had arrived in Jordan days earlier in preparation for participating in the festival.

Majida El Roumi wrote in a post on her official account on platform X: 'We have arrived in Jordan.. Thank you for the love and warm welcome, see you in Jerash.'

In addition to opening the Jerash Festival, Majida El Roumi will close the 60th edition of the Carthage International Festival in Tunisia on August 19.

Majida El Roumi is one of the most prominent artists in Lebanon and the Arab world, with a large fan base. The Jerash and Carthage festivals are among the oldest in the region, attracting top artists. Her presence at the opening of Jerash and the closing of Carthage reflects her high artistic stature. Her participation comes as part of the summer cultural events in Jordan and Tunisia, where these festivals see large audiences.
