Today, the Theater and Performing Arts Authority concluded the theater production workshop in Riyadh, thereby concluding 20 in-person training workshops held in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, with the participation of more than 452 male and female trainees, as part of the fourth edition of the 'From Idea to Stage' training program, which launched last April and continues until next August 25, aiming to develop the skills of practitioners and those interested in theater and empower national talents in various theater fields.

The training workshops varied between 6 workshops dedicated to children and adolescents and 14 workshops for adults, totaling 925 training hours implemented over 185 days, as part of an integrated training program that combines theoretical and practical aspects, and aims to develop the artistic and technical skills of participants in various theater work disciplines.

The workshops covered a number of specialized tracks in theatrical arts, including playwriting, acting and stage performance, directing, stage management, creative drama, costume and set design, lighting and sound, in addition to workshops for children and adolescents that included stage acting, musical theater, and the art of juggling, as well as specialized workshops in scenography and theater production, reflecting the diversity of training tracks offered by the program to cover various elements of theatrical work artistically, technically, and creatively.

The program also witnessed over the past three months the holding of closing ceremonies for a number of training workshops, during which participants presented performances and applied projects through which they embodied the skills and knowledge they acquired during the training period, in a practical experience that reflected their transition from the learning stage to application on stage, and contributed to highlighting the program's outputs in the areas of performance, directing, theatrical expression, and visual design.

The Theater and Performing Arts Authority continues to offer training workshops until next August 25, through a package of specialized virtual workshops covering areas such as theater troupe management, investment in theater, theater criticism, and from novel to script, along with advanced workshops in directing that address experimentation and integration of technology in live performances, collaboration techniques for creating collective works and classical texts, in addition to workshops on dramaturgy and scenography and others, contributing to enriching theatrical knowledge and enhancing the applied skills of participants in various fields of performing arts.

The 'From Idea to Stage' program is part of the efforts of the Theater and Performing Arts Authority to develop a specialized training system that contributes to discovering talents, qualifying national competencies, and raising the quality of theatrical practice, by providing training programs that combine academic qualification and practical application, contributing to the growth of the theater and performing arts sector in the Kingdom, in line with the goals of the National Culture Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.
