The Ministry of National Guard announced the successful implementation of a remote robotic surgery for a patient in Jeddah, performed by a medical team from Riyadh, in an advanced model that embodies the integration between the two surgical teams in the departments of kidney and urinary tract surgery at King Abdulaziz Medical Cities in Riyadh and Jeddah.

Using the KANGDUO – SageBot platform

The operation was performed using the KANGDUO – SageBot platform, as surgeons at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh performed the surgical intervention on a patient at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah, achieving a high level of precision and relying on advanced communication technologies.

The operation relied on robotic surgery techniques supported by artificial intelligence, which enabled the remote surgical intervention to be performed with high efficiency, reflecting the readiness of the technical infrastructure and the integrated coordination between the medical teams in the two cities to successfully complete the operation.

This achievement represents an advanced step in employing remote robotic surgery, and confirms the integration of health affairs facilities of the Ministry of National Guard to enhance the quality and efficiency of health services, paving the way for future surgeries for patients without the need to transfer them between cities.
