Heart Specialist Warns: Staying Up Until Dawn Threatens Family Health During Holidays
دعا استشاري أمراض القلب الدكتور خالد النمر العائلات إلى تجنب السهر حتى الفجر خلال العطلات الصيفية، مؤكداً أن النوم النهاري لا يعد بديلاً كافياً للنوم الليلي.
Dr. Khaled Al-Nemer, consultant cardiologist and interventional cardiologist, warned of the danger of the culture of staying up until dawn, which has become a prevalent pattern during summer holidays, pointing out the disruption it causes to the body's biological clock.
Dr. Al-Nemer explained that this pattern of staying up increases the risk of several serious diseases, most notably:
- High blood pressure
- Coronary artery diseases
- Cardiac arrhythmia
The consultant also warned that the most vulnerable groups are children, the elderly, and heart patients, urging families to consider their health needs during the holiday period.
Regarding daytime sleep, Dr. Al-Nemer confirmed that it does not fully compensate for nighttime sleep biologically, even if the number of hours is equal, stressing the importance of maintaining regular sleep and wake times to protect against the risks of these diseases.
