Red Crescent in Makkah Trains Over 36,000 Beneficiaries in First Half of 2026
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Makkah Region achieved remarkable results in community training and education programs during the first half of 2026, with a total of 36,164 trainees and beneficiaries. These included training courses and programs targeting the educational sector, as part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to spread a culture of first aid and enhance community readiness to deal with emergency situations.
The Authority clarified that the number of trainees in training courses reached 5,048 male and female trainees, distributed as follows: 2,772 in Jeddah Governorate, 1,478 in the Holy Capital, and 798 in Taif Governorate. The Authority also implemented 292 training courses, including 144 courses in Jeddah, 84 courses in Makkah, and 64 courses in Taif.
Regarding community education, the Authority conducted 974 awareness lectures targeting various segments of society, with 420 lectures in Jeddah, 340 in Makkah, and 214 in Taif, aiming to spread awareness of first aid and enhance the culture of rapid response to emergency situations.
In the educational sector, 31,116 beneficiaries benefited from training and awareness programs directed at schools, universities, and educational institutions. Among them, 12,763 were in Jeddah, 9,253 in Makkah, and 9,100 in Taif, with the aim of instilling first aid skills and raising the level of health awareness among students and educational sector personnel.
The Authority affirmed its continuation of implementing training and awareness programs, calling on citizens and residents to register for its courses via the “Mutaheeb” platform to acquire basic first aid skills and enhance community readiness to deal with emergencies before the arrival of ambulance teams.
