Health / Saudi Arabia strengthens its presence in digital health with global recognition for virtual autism clinic in Geneva

Geneva, Muharram 24, 1448 AH / July 09, 2026, SPA – The Virtual Autism Clinic, affiliated with the Saudi Autism Families Association, has received a global honor at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS 2026) hosted by Geneva, Switzerland, after being selected among initiatives qualifying for global voting in the e-health track. This achievement reflects the progress Saudi Arabia is making in employing digital solutions to develop health services and improve quality of life. The recognition comes as a culmination of the clinic's progress in providing specialized digital health care services for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families, through an integrated system that offers therapeutic and consultation services remotely, contributing to enhanced access to specialized health services and raising their efficiency, and highlighting the efficacy of national initiatives in developing digital models with societal impact. Since its launch, the clinic has provided services to over 200 families and conducted more than 1,000 therapeutic and consultation sessions, including beneficiaries from various regions of the Kingdom, as well as a number of beneficiaries from Gulf Cooperation Council countries, thus enabling families to access specialized services without the need for travel or relocation. The clinic has fulfilled its regulatory requirements by obtaining a license from the Ministry of Health, accreditation from the Council of Health Insurance, and connection to the "Nafis" platform, in addition to registration with the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI), which reinforces its commitment to national standards of quality and safety of digital health services, and confirms the readiness of national health initiatives to compete in international forums. His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Farhan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Autism Families Association, stated that this recognition marks an important milestone in the project's journey and reflects the quality of the model presented by the clinic in a short period, affirming that its arrival at a global platform of the size of the World Summit on the Information Society within less than a year of its launch embodies the ability of national competencies and Saudi initiatives to compete internationally when they stem from a real need and achieve a tangible impact for beneficiaries.
