The Virtual Autism Clinic, a flagship project of the Autism Families Association, received international recognition in Geneva, Switzerland, during the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS 2026). The project was selected among initiatives qualified for global voting in the E-Health track, an achievement reflecting the project's rapid progress despite being launched less than a year ago.

Since its launch on October 19, 2025, the clinic has provided an innovative national model for specialized digital health care for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families. Through an integrated system, it enables remote access to health and advisory services, supported by digital solutions that assist specialists and enhance follow-up quality.

In a short period, the clinic has served over 200 families and conducted more than 1,000 therapeutic and counseling sessions, with services extending to various regions of Saudi Arabia and several Gulf countries. This has empowered families to access specialized services without needing to travel to major cities.

The clinic has completed its regulatory framework by obtaining a license from the Ministry of Health, accreditation from the Council of Health Insurance, integration with the Nafis platform, and registration with Sehha, reflecting its commitment to national standards of quality and safety in digital health services.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Autism Families Association, Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Farhan Al Saud, and Secretary General Areej Al-Muallim affirmed that this recognition marks an important milestone for the project. They noted that reaching a global platform like WSIS in less than a year reflects the project's quality and sound direction, confirming the ability of Saudi initiatives to compete internationally when driven by real need and achieving tangible impact for beneficiaries.

They added that the project continues its journey toward developing more integrated digital health solutions that improve care quality and expand access to specialized services, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 under the Health Sector Transformation Program. They emphasized that this recognition serves as motivation to continue innovation and deliver sustainable national models.
