Makkah, 03 Safar 1448 AH corresponding to July 17, 2026 AD, SPA -- Mount Hira, one of the most prominent religious landmarks in Makkah, located northeast of the city, is also known as Jabal al-Nur (Mountain of Light). Its significance stems from housing the Cave of Hira, which witnessed the beginning of the revelation to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). According to the narration of Aisha bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) in Sahih al-Bukhari, the first form of revelation received by the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was true dreams during sleep; he would not see a dream except that it came true like the dawn's break. Then seclusion became beloved to him, so he would retreat to the Cave of Hira, performing 'tahannuth' (worship) there for a number of nights, taking provisions for that, then return to Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) to take provisions for a similar period, until the truth came to him while he was in the Cave of Hira. The angel came to him and said, 'Read (Iqra).' The mountain rises approximately 634 meters above sea level, and its cave is located at the top with a small area that can accommodate only a limited number of people. It was a place of worship for the Prophet (peace be upon him) before his mission. Today, the mountain is one of the most prominent sites attracting visitors and those interested in the Prophet's biography, due to its spiritual and historical significance, as it represents the starting point of the message of monotheism and a witness to a pivotal stage in the history of Islam. // End // 15:38 T M 0075
