Imam of the Grand Mosque: Knowledge of God's Names and Attributes is Among the Noblest and Most Beneficial Sciences
Imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Maher Al-Muaiqly, said that knowledge of God's names, attributes, and actions is among the noblest, most beneficial, most important, and greatest of sciences, for the honor of knowledge follows the honor of its subject.
He added that the more a servant knows his Lord's names and attributes, the more he knows Him, fears Him, seeks Him, and draws closer to Him.
The Greatest Name of God
He pointed out that among God's beautiful names are 'the Ever-Living' and 'the Self-Sustaining,' and these two names encompass the meanings of all beautiful names, and the lofty names and attributes revolve around them.

He explained that 'the Ever-Living' encompasses the attributes of perfection, and 'the Self-Sustaining' encompasses the attributes of actions, and a number of scholars have held that these two constitute the greatest name of God, by which if called upon He answers, and if asked He gives.
