Under the directives and follow-up of the Director of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture Office in the Holy Capital, Engineer Ghaleb bin Yahya Hamidi, the Monitoring and Compliance Department at the Central Vegetable and Fruit Market continued its intensive inspection plans, conducting 570 field tours over the past days, as part of an ongoing monitoring system aimed at enhancing compliance with regulatory and health requirements, and ensuring the safety and quality of traded products, thereby strengthening consumer protection and preserving public health.

The inspection tours resulted in 15 warnings, 55 violations against non-compliant facilities, confiscation of 5,212 kilograms of products violating regulations, destruction of 3,038 kilograms of materials unfit for human consumption, and delivery of 2,174 kilograms of consumable products to charitable organizations, in accordance with approved regulatory procedures, contributing to maximizing their utilization and supporting initiatives to reduce food waste. Engineer Ghaleb bin Yahya Hamidi affirmed that these efforts come in implementation of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture's directives aimed at tightening control over public benefit markets and raising the level of compliance with laws and regulations, noting that the monitoring and compliance teams continue their field work according to ongoing operational plans based on meticulous follow-up and immediate response to observations, ensuring the safety and quality of food products before they reach consumers.

He added that the office will not be lenient in applying regulations against violators, emphasizing the continuation of intensive inspection tours to enhance food security, preserve public health, and achieve the ministry's targets in developing monitoring efficiency and improving the quality of services provided in the central markets.
