The Eastern Region Municipality completed more than 60 development projects in Khobar Governorate during the first half of the current year 2026, including humanization projects, road development, rehabilitation of residential neighborhoods, development of waterfronts, creation of public parks, and walking tracks. The municipality explained that the projects included more than 26 sites that involved developing and rehabilitating pedestrian sidewalks and bicycle paths with lengths exceeding 77 kilometers, contributing to enhancing sustainable mobility patterns and providing urban environments, and developing 14 residential neighborhoods by rehabilitating more than 6 parks, and 21 walking tracks with total lengths exceeding 52 kilometers, in addition to afforestation projects and expansion of green spaces with a total area of 2.37 million square meters. The Eastern Region Municipality pointed to the completion of the first phase of the "Khobar Terrace" project on the waterfront, built on an area of more than 40,000 square meters, which includes a skating rink with an area of 1,300 square meters, an interactive fountain, telescopes, and a sports area of 4,000 square meters, along with pedestrian and bicycle paths, stressing its continued implementation of development projects in the second half of the current year 2026, to enhance the status of Khobar Governorate as one of the best cities for living, working, and investing, and to improve the quality of life for its residents and visitors.
