Amendment of 3 Items in the Regulation of the Unified National Visa Platform - Urgent
The Council of Ministers approved the amendment of the regulation of the unified national visa platform, granting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ownership of the platform and its technical development.
The decision aims to unify efforts and govern the distribution of roles among government agencies to ensure work efficiency.

The government amendment stipulated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would build the platform to be the approved national interface in this regard.

The decision also granted the ministry the authority to specify the hosting entity of the platform, in agreement with the National Cybersecurity Authority and the Digital Government Authority. The decision issued by the council included the deletion of the sixth item of the previous decision regarding the regulation of the visa platform.
These legislative amendments seek to enhance the governance of technical procedures, and precisely define administrative and operational responsibilities. The approval came based on a memorandum submitted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and after completing the study of the file by the competent committees.
Processing the transaction
The studies included memos from the Bureau of Experts, and minutes from the Political and Security Affairs Council and the Economic and Development Affairs Council. The latest amendment was based on a recommendation from the General Committee of the Council of Ministers to process the transaction received from the Royal Court. This measure updates Decision No. 559 issued in the month of Shawwal of the year 1443 AH.
