WAS - Riyadh:
The Real Estate Registry announced yesterday the start of accepting applications for the first in-kind registration of (1,491) real estate properties in the regions of Riyadh, Makkah, and Tabuk.
The registration in the Riyadh region includes a number of properties in Afif governorate, in addition to the following neighborhoods in Rumah governorate: (Al Rabiya neighborhood, part of the open area neighborhood affiliated with Al Rawdah Municipality, and part of the open area neighborhood affiliated with Al Sharq Municipality). Registration in Makkah region begins in Taif governorate for the following neighborhoods: (part of Umm Al Rassaf neighborhood, part of Al Qarahin neighborhood, and part of Umm Al Arad neighborhood), in addition to a number of properties in Tabuk region in Umluj governorate.
Property owners within these neighborhoods must register their properties before the end of Thursday, October 22, 2026. They can verify if their property falls within the announced areas through the Real Estate Registry platform.
The Real Estate Registry called on property owners to register their properties through the Real Estate Registry platform (www.rer.sa) or the Real Estate Registry application, and to contact the customer service center (199002) for inquiries about registration procedures and steps. Property owners must also register their properties within the specified period to benefit from the Real Estate Registry services, execute real estate transactions with ease, and avoid penalties and fines stipulated by the In-Kind Real Estate Registration System.
The Real Estate Registry affirmed that it continues its work in registering properties in the regions benefiting from the registry, as part of its efforts to increase reliability and transparency in the sector by building a comprehensive real estate database for property information in the Kingdom, to serve as a unified reference for all property data.
The Real Estate Registry will issue a 'Property Number' and a property registration deed for each registered property unit. The new property registration deed includes the precise geographic location of the property, owner data, descriptions, status, associated rights and obligations, and all real estate transactions that occur on it, to serve as the basis for documenting ownership and real estate rights, contributing to the sustainability and enhancement of the real estate sector and its key enablers.
Real estate areas are determined according to several criteria, based on the role of the General Real Estate Authority, which is the body responsible for in-kind real estate registration as per the Council of Ministers resolution and the provisions of the In-Kind Real Estate Registration System. The National Company for In-Kind Real Estate Registration Services (Real Estate Registry) undertakes the establishment and management of the Real Estate Registry in the Kingdom using geospatial data and modern technologies through an integrated digital platform, contributing to enhancing transparency and trust in real estate services and data.
