Key stages of Social Security

As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening the social protection system and entrenching concepts of justice and sustainability, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has been keen to develop the services of the Social Security System as one of the national pillars supporting livelihood stability, improving the quality of life for beneficiary groups, and enabling them to gradually transition from dependence on support to production and economic participation.

The Ministry bases its efforts on principles that ensure justice in directing support, by building eligibility decisions on accurate data and clear criteria that take into account income level, family composition, and ability to work, ensuring that support reaches its actual beneficiaries.

Stages of application from submission to acceptance

The Social Security System allows individuals and families among its beneficiaries to apply electronically via the Social Protection and Support Platform. The applications go through several stages, starting with entering basic data, adding all family members residing in the same dwelling, and linking them to the approved national address. The applications are then subject to an eligibility study and data verification electronically, with eligibility results announced on the 27th of each Gregorian month, while the pension is disbursed to eligible persons on the first day of each Gregorian month regularly.
