The Saudi Science Team has won eight international awards in the Chemistry Olympiad and Biology Olympiad competitions for 2026.

The results came after students participated in Uzbekistan and Lithuania, organized by the Ministry of Education and the 'Mawhiba' Foundation.

Chemistry Olympiad Awards

Saudi students won four awards in the International Chemistry Olympiad hosted by the Uzbek capital Tashkent, with competitions held from the 10th to the 19th of July this year.

Student Ali Ahmed Bawazir from the General Administration of Education in Riyadh Region and student Ali Salem Al-Yami from the General Administration of Education in Najran Region won two silver medals. Student Abdulaziz Badr Al-Juaid from the General Administration of Education in Madinah Region and student Mojtaba Abdullah Al-Tarouti from the General Administration of Education in the Eastern Region won two bronze medals.

Biology Olympiad Track

In the International Biology Olympiad track in the Republic of Lithuania, the Saudi team achieved four additional awards. The competitions were held in the capital Vilnius from the 12th to the 19th of July this year.

Student Taha Arshad Kadwai from the General Administration of Education in Jeddah Governorate won a silver medal, while student Hamza Mohammed Baessa from the General Administration of Education in Riyadh Region won a bronze medal. Student Elias Fawzi Asloub from the General Administration of Education in Jeddah Governorate also won a bronze medal, while student Faisal Saad Abdul Latif from the General Administration of Education in Riyadh Region was awarded a certificate of appreciation. These participations come within the joint supervision programs between the Ministry of Education and the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity 'Mawhiba'. These institutional arrangements aim to manage the presence of Saudi students in global scientific forums.
