The Eastern Region Municipality revealed that more than 11,000 tons of waste were removed, and 3,500 trees were planted in Dammam during two weeks, confirming the implementation of 1,862 inspection rounds to enhance health requirements and improve the urban landscape.

The official spokesman for the Eastern Region Municipality, Faisal Al-Zahrani, explained that field teams transported 11,756 tons of waste.

He added that the works included mechanical street sweeping for a distance of 948 km, and manual sweeping for 364 km. Al-Zahrani stated that Dammam Municipality collected about 15,886 cubic meters of scattered waste, and transported 6,392 tons of large waste, pointing out that 2,168 cubic meters of rubble were removed and 15,000 square meters of vacant lands were cleaned. He noted that 12 beaches and waterfronts were targeted for cleaning, along with environmental maintenance for about 394,000 square meters of parks, adding that the Parks and Environment Department planted 29,200 square meters of new green spaces.

Improving public facilities efficiency

The official spokesman reported the implementation of comprehensive maintenance for 56,600 square meters of existing green spaces, and carrying out 300 maintenance operations for irrigation networks, revealing the execution of 163 corrective visits as part of environmental health efforts to enhance oversight of facilities. These operational plans aim to improve public facilities efficiency and maintain the sustainability of the urban environment in the region. Through these ongoing efforts, the Eastern Region Municipality seeks to provide a clean environment that meets the aspirations of residents and visitors.
