His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held in Jeddah on Tuesday.

At the outset of the session, the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on the content of a phone call he received from U.S. President Donald Trump, during which they reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation and a number of regional and international issues, while emphasizing support for all that contributes to the security and stability of the region.

He also referred to the outcomes of his talks with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, stressing the keenness to consolidate and develop bilateral relations at various levels, towards deeper joint cooperation supported by mutual trust and close friendship, consistent with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and Canada's growth agenda.

New agreements and understandings with Canada and other countries

The Cabinet added that it commended the official visit of the Canadian Prime Minister, which witnessed the signing of memoranda of understanding to establish the Saudi-Canadian Coordination Council and cooperation in energy, artificial intelligence investment, and skills development, in addition to the success of the Saudi-Canadian Investment Forum, which saw the announcement of commercial and investment agreements in mining, engineering, infrastructure, advanced industries, training, education, financial services, and information and communications technology.

Political positions and regional condemnations

In a statement by the Saudi Press Agency after the session, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development and Acting Minister of Media, Engineer Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, explained that the Cabinet strongly condemned Iran's repeated attacks on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz and on the states of Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Oman, and Jordan, affirming its complete rejection of Iran's continued behavior that destabilizes regional security and violates principles of international law, UN charters, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and good neighborly rules.

The Cabinet welcomed the outcomes of the Saudi-Iraqi meeting in Riyadh, which included Iraq's affirmation of its commitment not to allow its territory or airspace to be used for any acts or attacks targeting the Kingdom and Gulf countries, with agreement to continue bilateral coordination to serve common interests.

The Cabinet also welcomed the US announcement of beginning procedures to repeal the law designating Syria as a state sponsor of terrorism, reiterating the Kingdom's support for the positive steps taken by the Syrian government to enhance security and stability and build state institutions.

Authorizing the Minister of Foreign Affairs or his delegate to negotiate with the Government of Guatemala on a general cooperation agreement.

Authorizing the Minister of Culture or his delegate to negotiate with Albania on a cultural memorandum of understanding.

Authorizing the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development to negotiate with Armenia on a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in labor and social protection.

The Saudi Society of Internal Auditors to negotiate with the Turkish Institute of Internal Auditors on a memorandum of understanding in internal audit, governance, risk, and compliance.

Approving a memorandum of understanding for technical and scientific geological cooperation with the Iraqi Geological Survey.

Approving two memoranda of understanding in the field of anti-corruption with Brazil and Côte d'Ivoire.

Approving a memorandum of understanding with North Macedonia for cooperation in accounting, auditing, and professional work.

Approving two memoranda of understanding for cooperation in the non-profit sector with Bahrain and Singapore.

Approving a memorandum of understanding between the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language and the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Approving the State Revenues System.

Creating a training visa for international trainees according to specified arrangements.

Appointing Emad bin Aouda Al-Ouda and Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Shibl as members of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Postal Corporation.

Approving the final accounts of the Agricultural Development Fund, the Tourism Development Fund, and the universities of Jazan, Umm Al-Qura, Hail, and Hafr Al-Batin.

Issuing directives regarding a number of items on the agenda, including annual reports of the King Abdulaziz Reserve Development Authority and the universities of Umm Al-Qura, Northern Borders, and King Khalid.

Approving the promotion of Mohammed bin Yousef Al-Harbi to the position of Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the promotion of Khaled bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh to the position of Legal Advisor at the fourteenth rank at the Experts Authority of the Cabinet.
