His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect him – chaired the Cabinet session held today in Jeddah.

At the outset of the session, His Highness the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on the content of a phone call he received from US President Donald Trump, during which they reviewed areas of cooperation between the two countries and a number of regional and international issues, and emphasized support for all that contributes to achieving the region's security and stability.

His Highness also informed the Council of the results of his discussions with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, which affirmed the keenness to cement and develop bilateral relations at various levels toward a future characterized by deeper cooperation, supported by mutual trust, close friendship, and the goals emanating from Saudi Vision 2030 and Canada's growth agenda to build a stronger and more resilient economy for both countries.

In this context, the Cabinet commended the signing of memoranda of understanding during the official visit of the Canadian Prime Minister regarding the establishment of the Saudi-Canadian Coordination Council, cooperation in energy, investment in artificial intelligence, and skills development, as well as the success achieved at the Saudi-Canadian Investment Forum, which included announcements of commercial and investment agreements between government entities, companies, and institutions from both countries in mining, engineering, infrastructure, advanced industries, training, education, financial services, and information and communications technology.

His Excellency Minister of Human Resources and Social Development and Acting Minister of Media, Engineer Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Rajhi, stated in his statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the session that the Cabinet, following its monitoring of developments in regional and international arenas, condemned in the strongest terms the repeated Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, and on Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, affirming total rejection of Iran's continued destabilizing behavior in the region and its violations of principles of international law, the UN and OIC charters, and good neighborliness rules.

The Cabinet welcomed the outcomes of the meeting held in Riyadh between the Saudi and Iraqi sides, which included Iraq's affirmation of its commitment not to allow its territory and airspace to be used as a launchpad for any actions or attacks targeting the Kingdom, the GCC states, and the countries of the region, in addition to agreeing to continue bilateral coordination in the service of common interests.

The Cabinet welcomed the US announcement of the start of procedures to repeal the 'Law Designating the Syrian Arab Republic as a State Sponsor of Terrorism' enacted in 1979, reiterating Saudi Arabia's support for the positive steps taken by the Syrian government to enhance security and stability, build state institutions, and fulfill the aspirations of its brotherly people.

The Cabinet reviewed the items on its agenda, including topics in which the Shura Council participated in their study, and also reviewed the conclusions reached by the Political and Security Affairs Council, the Economic and Development Affairs Council, the General Committee of the Cabinet, and the Council of Experts regarding them, and the Council resolved the following:

First:

Authorizing His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs – or his deputy – to negotiate and sign with the Guatemalan side a draft general cooperation agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Republic of Guatemala.

Second:

Authorizing His Highness the Minister of Culture – or his deputy – to negotiate and sign with the Albanian side a draft memorandum of understanding on cultural cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Albania.

Third:

Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development – or his deputy – to negotiate and sign with the Armenian side a draft memorandum of understanding on cooperation in labor and social protection between the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

Fourth:

The Saudi Institute of Internal Auditors is to negotiate and sign with the Turkish Institute of Internal Auditors a draft memorandum of understanding on cooperation in internal auditing, governance, risk, and compliance.

Fifth:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding on technical and scientific geological cooperation between the Saudi Geological Survey and the Iraqi Geological Survey.

Sixth:

Approval of two memoranda of understanding on anti-corruption between the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority of Saudi Arabia and the Attorney General's Office of the Federative Republic of Brazil, and the High Authority for Good Governance of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.

Seventh:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the General Court of Audit of Saudi Arabia and the State Audit Office of the Republic of North Macedonia for cooperation in accounting, auditing, and professional work.

Eighth:

Approval of two memoranda of understanding on cooperation in procedures, mechanisms, and strategies related to the non-profit sector between the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Social Development of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth of the Republic of Singapore.

Ninth:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language of Saudi Arabia and the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

Tenth:

Approval of the State Revenue System.

Eleventh:

Introducing a training visa granted to international trainees, subject to a number of arrangements.

Twelfth:

Appointing Mr. Emad bin Awadh Al-Awdah and Mr. Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Shibl as members of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Postal Corporation.

Thirteenth:

Approval of the final accounts of the Agricultural Development Fund, the Tourism Development Fund, and the universities of Jazan, Umm Al-Qura, Hail, and Hafr Al-Batin for previous fiscal years.

Fourteenth:

Issuing directives as necessary regarding a number of items on the Cabinet's agenda, including annual reports of the King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority, and the universities of Umm Al-Qura, Northern Border, and King Khalid.
