RIYADH — The Ministry of Commerce conducted more than 151,000 inspections of commercial establishments and online stores during the second quarter of 2026.

The ministry's Consumer Bulletin for the quarter revealed that inspectors issued over 4,000 discount authorizations covering more than 12 million products and goods.

More than 137,000 consumer complaints were processed during the quarter, with issues related to online stores and exchange/return policies accounting for the largest share, and an average resolution time of 36 hours.

As part of its consumer safety efforts, the ministry also carried out 25 product recall campaigns involving more than 48,000 defective vehicles and consumer products to address technical defects and enhance public safety.

These inspections are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen consumer confidence in the Saudi market. The high volume of complaints highlights the growing importance of e-commerce regulation. Further recall campaigns may be expected as authorities continue to monitor product safety.
