Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the Cabinet session held today (Tuesday) in Jeddah. The Cabinet approved the state revenue system and authorized the creation of a visa to attract international trainees under specific arrangements.
At the beginning of the session, the Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on the contents of the phone call he received from United States President Donald Trump, during which they reviewed areas of cooperation between the two countries, discussed regional and international issues, and emphasized support for all efforts contributing to the security and stability of the region.
The Crown Prince also informed the Council of the results of his discussions with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, highlighting their mutual commitment to consolidating and developing bilateral relations across various levels. This aims for a future characterized by deeper cooperation, supported by mutual trust, close friendship, and the goals emerging from Saudi Vision 2030 and Canada's growth agenda to build a stronger and more resilient economy for both nations.
In this context, the Cabinet praised the outcomes of the Canadian Prime Minister's official visit, which included the signing of memoranda of understanding to establish the "Saudi-Canadian Coordination Council" and cooperation in energy, investment in artificial intelligence, and skills development. Minister of Human Resources and Social Development and Acting Minister of Media, Ahmed Al-Rajhi, stated in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session that the Cabinet, while monitoring regional and international events, condemned in the strongest terms the repeated Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as those against Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Oman, and Jordan. The Council reaffirmed its total rejection of Iran's continued behavior that destabilizes regional security, and its violations of international law principles, the UN Charter, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the rules of good neighborliness.
The Cabinet welcomed the contents of the meeting held in Riyadh between the Saudi and Iraqi sides, which included Iraq’s affirmation of its commitment to not allow its territories or airspace to be used as a launchpad for any acts or attacks targeting the Kingdom, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, or the region. Both parties also agreed to continue bilateral coordination to serve their common interests.
The Council welcomed the United States' announcement of the initiation of procedures to revoke the "law designating the Syrian Arab Republic as a state sponsor of terrorism," which was enacted in 1979. It reiterated the Kingdom’s support for positive steps taken by the Syrian government toward enhancing security and stability, building state institutions, and achieving the aspirations of its brotherly people.
