Egypt, in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, condemned in the strongest terms the targeting of Saudi Arabia with missiles, which constitutes a dangerous escalation threatening the Kingdom's security and territorial integrity, and undermines efforts to reduce tension and maintain regional security and stability.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry affirmed in its statement that 'Egypt reiterates its absolute rejection of all attacks targeting the security and sovereignty of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, or affecting the security and stability of the region's countries, renewing its full solidarity and standing with the Kingdom in facing all threats to its security and territorial integrity.'

This comes after the official spokesman of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that 'the Saudi air defenses dealt with a new missile threat launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards the southern region of the Kingdom.'

The official spokesman of the coalition forces added that 'the air defense forces dealt with the attack according to normal procedures.'
