The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has extended the deadline for obtaining licenses to use well water for various purposes by a full year, ending on July 9, 2027, corresponding to 5 Safar 1449 AH, as part of its efforts to facilitate regulatory procedures and enhance water sustainability.

The Ministry explained that the extension decision aims to facilitate procedures for issuing licenses to use well water, regulate groundwater uses, contribute to achieving water sustainability, and ensure the continuity of beneficiaries' activities; thereby enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of water resource management.

The categories benefiting from the extension decision include: individuals, government entities, the business sector, and the non-profit sector. The Ministry called on all those covered to take advantage of the deadline and complete the procedures for obtaining licenses within the specified period.

The Ministry stressed that the extension decision does not include licenses for local agricultural companies and large wheat farmers, nor licenses for water owners and bottled water factories, which are subject to the approved regulatory controls and procedures.
