The Special Forces for Environmental Security apprehended a citizen who violated the instructions and guidelines for preserving vegetation cover, after lighting a fire in unauthorized places in the Asir region.

The forces explained that regulatory procedures were applied against the violator, in accordance with the environmental system.

The Special Forces for Environmental Security indicated that the penalty for lighting fires in unauthorized locations in forests and national parks amounts to a fine of 3,000 riyals.

In the same context, the forces urged reporting any cases of aggression against the environment or wildlife via phone number 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or via numbers 999 and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom's regions, stressing the confidentiality of all reports and that the reporter bears no responsibility.
