Engineer Fawaz bin Zanaf Al-Sahli, Chairman of the Transport General Authority, led the Saudi delegation participating in the 137th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council meetings, held in the British capital London, as part of the Kingdom's efforts to enhance its presence in international maritime forums and support the development of the maritime transport sector.

The meetings discussed a number of strategic issues related to improving the efficiency of the maritime sector, enhancing maritime navigation safety and security, and supporting international cooperation in this field.

On the sidelines of the meetings, the Chairman of the Transport General Authority held several bilateral meetings with officials from countries and international organizations, during which ways to enhance cooperation and exchange of expertise were discussed, and the Kingdom's most prominent achievements in developing the maritime sector were reviewed, in line with the goals of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Vision 2030.

The Authority affirmed that the Kingdom's participation comes as an extension of its active role in the work of the International Maritime Organization, and its keenness to contribute to the development of maritime policies and enhance cooperation with countries and organizations, supporting the Kingdom's position as a global logistics hub, and reinforcing its commitment to international agreements and standards related to the safety, security, and sustainability of maritime transport.
