Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, Jeddah Governor Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi witnessed the signing of two agreements between the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing and the National Water Company on one side, and ALMA destination on the other; with the aim of establishing operational frameworks for managing this multi-use destination, which spans an area of 3.125 million square meters in North Obhur in Jeddah.

The signing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Engineer Abdullah Al-Abdulkareem, CEO of the Saudi Water Authority; Dr. Fouad Al Sheikh Mubarak, CEO of the National Water Company; Engineer Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Dugaither, Assistant Deputy Minister of Municipalities and Housing for Regulation and Legal Affairs; Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Yamani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thuraya Al-Omraniya Company; Mr. Zuhair Bakheet, CEO of the company; along with investors and owners of the destination.

Sustainable Framework for Facility Management

The first agreement, signed with the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the Jeddah Municipality, aims to establish a sustainable framework for the management, operation, and maintenance of public facilities, open spaces, parks, and common facilities in the destination, including cleaning works, road maintenance, site landscaping, afforestation, and infrastructure works, in support of an integrated operational model for municipal assets.

Enhancing Reliability of Water Services

The second agreement, signed with the National Water Company, aims to implement and operate water treatment plants in various parts of the destination, contributing to enhancing environmental sustainability and increasing the reliability of services provided to residents and investors.

A Pioneering Model for Public-Private Partnership

The two agreements together form a pioneering model for public-private partnership, supporting sustainable urban development, enhancing infrastructure quality, and raising the investment value of the project, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. They also establish clear mechanisms for municipal coordination, destination management, and infrastructure maintenance, in parallel with the progress of urban development works.

Features of ALMA Destination

ALMA destination is located in North Obhur in Jeddah, and is one of the most prominent multi-use sea destinations in the city. It spans an area of 3.125 million square meters, and includes seven integrated neighborhoods encompassing residential, hospitality, commercial, and entertainment uses, along with two islands surrounded by artificial water channels designed to resemble the infinity symbol, connecting the Red Sea to King Salman Bay.

The destination includes 12.5 kilometers of waterfront, more than 5.5 kilometers of walkways, and 16 interconnected parks, within an integrated master plan that supports modern lifestyles and enhances quality of life. The project aligns with Vision 2030 goals by providing quality housing options, promoting private sector participation, attracting local and foreign investments, and contributing to the development of Jeddah's waterfront.
