The National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center ("Mai") concluded its participation in the activities of Saudi Water Week 2026, held from June 28 to July 2 in Jeddah, after a qualitative participation during which it showcased its initiatives, programs, and projects aimed at improving water use efficiency, promoting a culture of conservation, and expanding partnerships supporting water sustainability. The center's participation included the launch of the "Mai" Water Efficiency Award, as the first national platform dedicated to honoring excellence in water efficiency and conservation, stimulating innovation, spreading awareness, and encouraging initiatives and practices with sustainable impact. The center also honored 27 entities from water sustainability partners, in recognition of their contributions to supporting national initiatives and enhancing water efficiency and conservation, including government, private, and non-profit entities that contributed to implementing programs and initiatives with tangible impact across various sectors. As part of its efforts to exchange expertise and build capacities, Mai presented a series of dialogue sessions and specialized workshops, discussing themes of water awareness, transformation in the water sector, efficiency and conservation of use, national experiences in the urban sector, and empowerment of water efficiency service providers, in addition to reviewing environmental initiatives and institutional partnerships that contribute to achieving water sustainability. The events also included the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture honoring the National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center ("Mai") for its efforts and active participation in water awareness initiatives during the Hajj season 1447 AH, and its contributions to supporting national efforts aimed at raising awareness and enhancing water use efficiency among the pilgrims. The center affirmed that its participation in Saudi Water Week 2026 reflected its national role in developing innovative solutions and initiatives, and enhancing integration with government entities, the private sector, and the non-profit sector, to support building a more efficient and sustainable system, and contribute to establishing a culture of water conservation as a vital resource for future generations.
