The National Center for Water Efficiency and Conservation (Mai) announced the launch of the electronic licensing and services platform, which enables providers of water efficiency and conservation services to issue, renew, and amend licenses electronically, as part of the center's efforts to enhance digital transformation, improve service quality, and support water sustainability. Measurement of savings The center explained that the platform represents a unified digital window for regulating water efficiency and conservation services, contributing to streamlining procedures, increasing service reliability, and developing related activities. The platform allows the issuance of eight types of licenses for individuals, institutions, and companies in the urban, agricultural, and industrial sectors, and includes activities such as water auditing, leak detection and repair, measurement and verification of water savings, and design and implementation of water efficiency and conservation solutions. Service provider The center invited those wishing to engage in water efficiency and conservation activities to apply through the electronic platform to obtain the necessary licenses, and also invited beneficiaries of leak detection services to verify that the service provider is from licensed and accredited entities to ensure receiving reliable service in accordance with regulatory requirements. It emphasized that the activities covered by the licensing and services regulation are practiced through the platform, and their providers are subject to monitoring, follow-up, and evaluation procedures, including verification of the validity of studies, reports, and data, and conducting field visits to ensure compliance with approved controls and service quality. It is noteworthy that the center announced on January 31 last year the entry into force of the licensing regulation for providers of water efficiency and conservation services, which regulates the issuance of licenses, obligations of service providers, and monitoring and compliance procedures.
