The branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Makkah Region initiated an investigation into a report submitted by a female citizen, stating that foreign workers were illegally selling agricultural products on land owned by a private sector company in the vicinity of the central vegetable market in Jeddah.

Immediately, the branch conducted a field inspection in coordination with relevant government authorities, summoning the owner of the site, completing legal procedures, and evicting the violators from the location.

The campaign resulted in the detention of 12 expatriates of various nationalities, pending the completion of legal procedures against them and the enforcement of relevant laws and regulations.

The Director General of the branch, Engineer Walid bin Ibrahim Al Daghis, affirmed that the branch continues its inspection campaigns on public utility markets to monitor violations and ensure compliance with regulations, calling on investors and site owners to adhere to the regulations and cooperate with regulatory bodies, and stressing that field campaigns will continue to detect any violations and enforce regulations against offenders.
