The Kingdom showcased its experience in building a comprehensive national AI ecosystem that combines responsible governance with the expansion of AI applications across various sectors, highlighting the contributions of national entities involved in developing the AI ecosystem in the Kingdom. This was achieved through strengthening governance and ethical frameworks, developing advanced computing infrastructure, supporting research and innovation, and building national capabilities, thereby cementing the Kingdom's position as a global model for developing responsible and scalable AI.

This came during a panel discussion organized by the Kingdom, represented by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), on the sidelines of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum. The session involved the participation of the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA), the International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), and Prince Sultan University, as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to support international cooperation and exchange of expertise and best practices, contributing to building a more sustainable, reliable, and inclusive digital future.

The participants reviewed the Kingdom's journey in deploying AI across several vital sectors, including government services, healthcare, and media, emphasizing the importance of building an integrated ecosystem that balances technological advancement with the requirements of trust, transparency, inclusion, and alignment with local values and cultures.

The session featured high-level discussions addressing the key lessons learned from the Kingdom's experience in the responsible expansion of AI, and the available opportunities to enhance international cooperation in governance, investment, and infrastructure innovation, enabling countries and institutions to benefit from successful experiences in building sustainable national AI ecosystems.
