His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, launched in his office at the Emirate a number of developmental, investment, and community projects in Qatif Governorate, with a total value exceeding SAR 900 million, in the presence of the Mayor of the Eastern Province, Engineer Fahd bin Mohammed al-Jubeir. These projects come as part of the efforts of the Eastern Province Municipality to develop infrastructure, improve road efficiency, increase green spaces, develop municipal assets, and create distinctive destinations that contribute to enhancing quality of life and supporting economic activity in the governorate.

His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province emphasized that the support and attention given to the municipal sector by the wise leadership—may God support them—has contributed to the implementation of qualitative developmental projects that raise the quality of services, enhance urban development, and improve infrastructure efficiency, positively reflecting on the quality of life in the cities and governorates of the Eastern Province. His Highness stressed the importance of continuing to implement projects according to the highest quality and efficiency standards, to enhance the investment environment, provide facilities and services that meet the needs of residents and visitors, and contribute to achieving sustainable development.

The Mayor of the Eastern Province, Engineer Fahd bin Mohammed al-Jubeir, affirmed that the launch of these projects is an extension of the great support and attention that Qatif Governorate receives from the wise leadership—may God support them—expressing his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province for his continuous support and constant keenness to follow up on developmental projects that contribute to enhancing quality of life and achieving sustainable development in the region.

Al-Jubeir explained that these projects embody the integration of efforts to transform developmental plans into tangible qualitative projects whose positive impacts are reflected on residents and visitors, noting that they combine infrastructure development, increasing green spaces, developing investment destinations, and supporting community projects, thus contributing to raising the quality of life and achieving a sustainable developmental impact, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and enhancing the governorate's attractiveness for investment and tourism.

The Mayor of the Eastern Province stated that the projects included the opening of three main road development projects with a total length of 9,500 meters, at a cost exceeding SAR 178 million, aimed at improving traffic efficiency, ease of access, enhancing connectivity between parts of the governorate, reducing travel time, and improving safety levels and the urban landscape. The projects included the development of King Abdulaziz Street – Phase 1, 2,500 meters long and 60 meters wide; Riyadh Street – Phase 1, 3,000 meters long and 40 meters wide; and North al-Nasirah Street, 4,000 meters long and 40 meters wide. Development works include asphalt paving, lighting, pedestrian paths, rainwater drainage, directional signs, car parking, rest areas, landscaping and beautification elements, as well as a dedicated lane for public transport buses.

The projects also included the opening of 15 parks in several neighborhoods of the governorate, with a total area exceeding 71,000 square meters, at a cost of SAR 13 million. The parks include lawns and green areas, various trees and shrubs, walking paths, children's play areas, rest areas, lighting and visual aesthetic elements, as well as supporting facilities and services. These projects aim to increase green coverage, provide safe and nearby recreational spaces for residents within neighborhoods, support physical activity and healthy lifestyles, improve the urban environment, and enhance social cohesion and quality of life.

Mathematics

The launch included three qualitative investment projects with total investments of SAR 720 million, foremost among which is the Prince Sultan Cultural Center project with an investment value of SAR 500 million, on an area exceeding 153,000 square meters, to be an integrated destination for cultural, tourism, and entertainment events. It also includes the development of the Thursday Market with a value of SAR 120 million, on an area of 24,000 square meters, to be a commercial and heritage destination that preserves its social identity, while developing the urban and service environment and raising the quality of the visitor and shopper experience. In addition, the development of Sehat Park with an investment value of SAR 100 million, as an integrated family and entertainment destination comprising entertainment and play areas, green spaces, walking paths, family seating areas, and service facilities, thus contributing to the development of municipal assets, creating civilizational, tourism, and commercial destinations, enhancing revenue sustainability, and opening wider avenues for private sector participation.

The launch also included two projects under community participation initiatives, with total investments of SAR 8.5 million: the development of Sehat Roundabout at a cost of SAR 5 million on an area of 10,500 square meters, and the establishment of the Craftsmen Park at a cost of SAR 3.5 million on an area of 3,000 square meters.
