Date of Publication: 23 July 2026 13:22 KSA

Riyadh Parking announced the activation of more than 3,600 paid parking spaces in the commercial strip of Al Olaya District starting from Saturday, July 25, 2026, in a new step, as part of the continuous expansion of the public parking regulation system in the city of Riyadh, contributing to improving the efficiency of parking use in vital areas, enhancing access to commercial destinations, and supporting traffic flow and mobility.

The operational scope includes Olaya Street from Al Urubah Road to Makkah Al Mukarramah Road southbound, and King Fahd Road from Makkah Al Mukarramah Road to Al Urubah Road, in addition to a number of internal commercial streets in the area. Riyadh Parking confirmed the continued application of the approved operational policy for paid parking, which includes operating hours from 8:00 AM to 12:00 midnight, Saturday to Thursday, with free parking on Fridays, and a 15-minute free grace period for short parking.

Parking fees can be paid via the Riyadh Parking application, self-payment machines, or by scanning the QR code on the directional signs, while the trial monthly subscription service is not available in the operational scope in this area during the current phase. This activation is part of the continuous expansion of the Riyadh Parking system, contributing to improving the efficiency of parking use in commercial streets, enhancing parking near destinations, reducing random parking, thereby improving traffic flow and the urban landscape. Riyadh Parking has previously activated more than 25,000 paid parking spaces in a number of vital streets and roads in Riyadh, along with activating more than 200,000 managed free parking spaces within residential neighborhoods, designated for residents and their visitors, contributing to reducing vehicle infiltration into residential areas and improving parking organization within neighborhoods. It is noteworthy that Riyadh Parking began organizing public parking in Riyadh in August 2024, and its system includes organizing public parking in commercial streets and parking within residential neighborhoods, in addition to developing off-street parking facilities and utilizing municipal assets in a number of vital locations, contributing to improving parking infrastructure efficiency, increasing supply, and keeping pace with the rapid growth witnessed in Riyadh.
